Strengthening LGBTIQA+ Discrimination Protections

Rainbow Futures WA is a consortium of WA based LGBTIQA+ community organisations and individuals concerned with the long-term well-being of the community. A 2020 survey of LGBTIQA+ community members and allies, overwhelmingly supported the need to strengthen discrimination protections to protect all LGBTIQA+ people and remove exemptions for faith-based organisations.

Project 111 is the Law Reform Commission of WA (LRC)'s review of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), which will result in recommendations on possible amendments to align with best practices around the world. A Discussion Paper was recently released for community consultation, closing on 29 October 2021.

  • Write about what you know. Some recommendations are included here, but feel free to select the particular reforms you want to see.
